An escaped pig caused chaos after it escaped and started walking along residential streets in County Durham this morning (July 13).
Some residents living in Easington may have woken up this morning and seen a pig walking around their street or garden after one managed to escape its owner.
Now, it would be easy for some readers to say we were telling porkies, but thanks to some locals from Easington grabbing some photos of the pig, we can assure you it actually happened.

Initially snapped near Easington Welfare Club, many people kept the rest of Easington informed of the pig's whereabouts, with commuters taking part in photographing the pig, due to it happening at around 9am this morning.
The farm animal was then seen further down Seaside Lane.
After first posting about it on the community's social media group, many people wanted to get involved in either helping to catch the pig or making light of the situation.
Commenting on one of the photos of the pig, one social media user said: "Only in Easington," while another simply added: "That’s crazy."
However, others were concerned for the welfare of the animal, with one person chiming in with: "Has anyone actually got it safe?"
In the end, the pig was rounded up by a kind-hearted member of the public and it was returned to where it escaped from - with one person confirming it was back home by posting a 'pun-tastic' post that read: "Porky has been rescued - some lovely people saved his bacon and got him back home."
While it amused many locals, this isn't the first time a pig has caused chaos in Easington after another pig wandered into Easington Colliery Club in February 2022.
On that occasion, the animal approached all the customers for a stroke, they managed to lure him outside with cheese and onion crisps before someone arrived to claim him.
