Two people were taken to hospital after a serious crash on a busy North East road this morning (Saturday, July 8).
Emergency services were alerted to a collision between two vehicles on the A171 at Fancy Bank, Charltons, near Guisborough shortly after 10.30am.
The road was closed for a number of hours while paramedics treated the injured.

Two people were treated at the scene, before being discharged, while a further two people were taken to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10:36am this morning to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A171 in Guisborough.

"We sent a clinical team leader and an emergency ambulance crew who treated and discharged two patients at the scene and transported a further two to James Cook hospital for further treatment."
Cleveland Police have been contacted for more information.
