A young man from Middlesbrough has tragically died following a car collision in Middlesbrough this morning (July 7).
Police are investigating a collision which happened on the A66 today, near the Brough junction, closing the road for hours this morning.
Sadly, a 35-year-old man from Middlesbrough died at the scene.
The man's family have been informed.

Cumbria Police have appeals for anyone with information to get in touch and help with their investigations.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it, quoting incident number 22 of 7 July 2023 and directing reports to Sergeant Young and PC McEwan. You can also phone 101.
"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, at 0800 555 111.
Drivers are warned of long delays on a section of the A66 following the collision. Traffic is backing up at Warcop.
