Just over a year after petrol prices in the UK soared to £2 a litre, prices have now dropped over sixty pence per litre in some parts of the North East.
Drivers are getting a better deal when they fill up their cars as prices have dropped just in time for the summer holidays.
On average, you can get a litre of diesel for 144.86p and a litre of unleaded for 143.48p.
