A seven-year-old girl has been left seriously injured after being hit by a car on Monday (July 3) afternoon.
The incident happened on Lanehouse Road in Thornaby, shortly before 4.45pm on Monday, when the young girl was hit by a vehicle.
A black Nissan Juke and Vauxhall Zafira were both involved in the incident which left the seven-year-old with head injuries.

She was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.
Police are ow appealing for anyone who may have information or have witnessed the incident to come forward to assist their enquiries.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Roads Policing officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision on Lanehouse Road in Thornaby, after a 7-year-old girl was hit by a car and left seriously injured.
“Officers are asking witnesses, and anyone with dashcam footage or doorbell camera footage to get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference number SE23130311.”
