Organisers of Teesside’s ‘The Gathering Sounds’ Festival in Stockton-on-Tees have announced new acts including local talent for its 2023 line-up.
North East band Komparrison is one of the many new acts announced to be performing at this year’s ‘The Gathering Sounds’ festival across multiple venues on September 30.
Following a performance at the Isle of Wight Festival, friends Elise, Kaitlyn, Ellie, Jess, and Elliott will head back to the North East to perform in the fifth annual festival.

Described as combining “electric and empowering pop/punk” with “nostalgia and current trends”, they will join acts including Bedroom Highclub, Lipfiller, Provenance and Hightide.
Festival organiser Jimmy Beck has expressed his joy at the line-up as he states Stockton has a “reputation for nurturing emerging musical talent”.
He added: “The Gathering Sounds Festival is proud to play a huge part in supporting and expanding this endeavour alongside our national promoters and industry.
“The festival’s 5th year is all about the journey, as TGS continues to act as a vessel for artist development.
“Our national friends are helping us put together an amazing line-up and judging by today's Georgian Theatre announcement, we’re super confident this is going to be our biggest and best event yet. Stay tuned for yet more announcements across multiple venues.”

Also returning home to the North East is “brat-pop” sibling duo ZELA, who write their music from personal experiences including elements of “misogyny, harmful stereotypes and debilitating double standards.”
The rest of the line-up is said to include artists from a variety of genres, as the festival is spread across four venues including The Georgian Theatre.
