A trial date for six teenagers accused of murdering a 14-year-old boy has been fixed for later in the year.
The youths, including a 17-year-old from County Durham, appeared in the dock of court six at Newcastle Crown Court this morning.
The case relates to the death of Gordon Gault who died six days after a suspected knife attack in Newcastle last November.

The trial date has been fixed for November 14, the day before the first anniversary of Gordon’s death.
Five 17-year-olds, one from the Ferryhill area, three from Newcastle, and one from Manchester, appeared alongside a 16-year-old boy from South Shields.
The boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, each face a single charge of murder and have been remanded into youth detention accommodation.
They will next appear at Newcastle Crown Court on July 28 for a plea hearing.
