One man has been arrested after two burglaries that police believe are linked took place in the North East last night (June 27).
The man, in his 20s, was arrested by Cleveland Police after two burglaries took place in different areas of Hartlepool from 11:30pm last night.
Both Amberton Road and Leamington Parade were then cordoned off this morning as a heavy police presence descended onto the residential roads.

Police also seized a blue Suzuki Vitara that they believe was used during the incidents, as they also work on the basis that the separate burglaries are linked.
On Amberton Road, the downstairs windows of the premises had been smashed, as investigators were still making their way in and out of the building just after 11am this morning (June 28).
Residents on Amberton Road claimed they heard “banging” around midnight before the police were called.
Another resident claimed he saw “glass fly everywhere” after he was awoken by the disturbance and went to see what was happening.
