A teenager was arrested trying to flee the scene following a motorbike crash in Bishop Auckland yesterday. (June 26).
The incident involved a red Mazda 2 car and a blue and black Yamaha XT motorbike in South Church Road at about 4.30pm.
The rider of the motorbike, an 18-year-old man wearing a bright blue body warmer, made off from scene and was arrested in Newgate Street after a short foot chase.

He was treated by paramedics before being taken to James Cook Hospital for treatment where he remains.
The driver of the Mazda is not thought to have been injured.
The bike, which was believed to have been stolen, was also recovered and an investigation is ongoing.

Officers want to hear from anyone who might have witnessed the incident or seen the motorbike shortly before the collision.
