A stunning rooftop bar opening today hopes to transport guests from the city centre to the Spanish island of Ibiza.
The new Altitude rooftop ‘sky garden’, opening for the first time on Saturday (June 24) is set on the roof of NX in Newcastle, formerly the O2 academy, sitting seven stories above the hustle and bustle of the streets below.
It promises bottomless brunches, pizzas, cocktails, house DJs, dancers and a ‘playful Balearic party vibe’.

Twenty new jobs have been created with the opening of the new independently owned venue from the team behind the Central Park pop-up in Times Square and MoosenWirt Christmas bar on Grey Street in years gone by.
Bosses say it is in a perfect suntrap location and will leave customers feeling like they’ve been transported to Ibiza but boasts great views over the city.
It is also fully heated for those cooler evenings and has a covered area. It is accessible from Clayton Street.
Mike Hesketh, from the new venue, said: “I am brimming with excitement to introduce this remarkable venue to our city's already amazing hospitality scene.
“Altitude was created by infusing the spirit of Balearic bliss and a sun-kissed sanctuary that combines the energy of a playful party atmosphere with the laid-back vibes of Ibiza.

“We want our guests to step into our secluded sun trap and instantly transport them to the enchanting allure of Ibiza that beckons them to unwind, indulge, and create ever-lasting memories.
“We can't wait to welcome everyone to our rooftop garden, where the sky is not the limit, but only the beginning. Get ready to ascend to new heights and enjoy a touch of Balearic magic on Newcastle's skyline.”
Altitude will be open from midday til 10pm on Friday and Saturday evenings.
