A restaurant has been named and shamed by HMRC for more than £30,000 worth of unpaid tax.
HMRC publishes details every three months of people and businesses given financial penalties for failing to comply with tax obligations, or deliberately filing errors in tax returns.
Details are only released when a person or business has made at least one deliberate default on more than £25,000.

A Newcastle restaurant is among those named and shamed on a newly released list for more than thirty grand of unpaid duties.
The Afghan Grill House restaurant, based on Stanton Street, Fenham in Newcastle’s West failed to pay £31,186.57 of tax during a one-year spell between April 2020 and April 2021.
The restaurant, which describes itself as “Newcastle’s premier Afghan food place” serves traditional curries, grills and kebabs.

Bosses were charged £28,847.57 in penalties.
It was the only North East firm named on the updated list released this week. In March seven firms were named and shamed for almost £640,000 of unpaid tax between them.
