A man was chased along streets and assaulted by a group of six men armed with a knife, police have confirmed.
Police officers from Cleveland Police received a report of six males armed with a bladed weapon who had chased a male in the Whinney Banks area in Middlesbrough at around 5.15pm on Monday (June 19), leaving the 23-year-old man with an injury to his head which required hospital treatment.
He has now been discharged from hospital.

The incident is believed to have happened in the area of Whinney Banks Road.
The males made off from the scene and enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.
Officers are appealing for information from anyone who saw the incident or anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam footage from the area which may assist the investigation.
