A woman has been taken to hospital after a three-car crash earlier this morning (June 19).
The incident happened at around 7.45am on Monday on the A68 near Consett, around the area of the B6278.
Police closed the road while paramedics took a woman to hospital in Durham. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A diversion remains in place near the Derwent Reservoir area while the vehicles involved are recovered from the scene.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “At 7.45am today we received a report of a collision involving three vehicles on the A68 near Castleside.
“Emergency services are in attendance and one person is believed to have suffered injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

“A road closure is in place directing traffic towards the Derwent Reservoir area to allow for the vehicles involved to be removed from the scene.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We received a call at 7:43am to reports of a road traffic collision on the A68 in Durham.
“We sent a clinical team leader and an ambulance crew and transported one female patient to University Hospital of North Durham.”
