Police have appealed for help in tracing down men who fled in a Range Rover after the seizure of a bag of suspected crack cocaine.
Cleveland Police said the incident began when the vehicle with three was approached by officers on Stainton Street, North Ormesby, at about 8.30pm on Tuesday, June 13.
The spokesperson said: "One of the passengers was outside the vehicle when it suddenly made off at speed. A machete was located on the floor and was seized.
"The passenger then made off on foot from officers, but after a foot pursuit was detained and arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
Officers re-traced the route and a large bag of suspected crack cocaine deals was found.
The passenger was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

The spokesperson said: "The Range Rover was located abandoned and has been recovered.
"Inquiries are ongoing to trace the driver of the vehicle and the occupants in connection with dangerous driving and drugs offences.
"The 20-year-old man remains in police custody."
