An appeal has been launched after a motorcyclist suffered 'serious' injuries following a collision on a busy North East road.
Durham Police have confirmed a motorbike rider was taken to Newcastle RVI Hospital after a crash on the B6302 between Esh Winning and Ushaw Moor on Sunday (June 11).
They confirmed they had received a report of the incident shortly after 3:30pm, and the road was closed for several hours while an investigation was underway.

A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson confirmed they received a report of the incident at about 3.30pm, and deployed an air ambulance, a paramedic crew and clinical team leader.
They confirmed a man had been treated for arm and leg injuries, before being taken to hospital by air ambulance.
An NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 15.29h today (11 June) to attend a collision between a motorbike and a fence on the B6302.
"We dispatched the air ambulance, a paramedic crew and clinical team leader, who treated a man with arm and leg injuries before he was airlifted to hospital."
Speaking on the road closure yesterday, a Durham Police spokesperson said: "The B6302 is currently closed between Esh Winning and Ushaw Moor due to a road traffic collision.
