RECENT planning applications submitted to North Yorkshire Council in May include:
- Retention of external seating area and conversion of outhouse building into drinking pods, The Mill, Stokesley.
The original application allowed the area to be used as an external seating area until 30/9/22, and this application seeks to retain this land in perpetuity as an external seating area.

The owners of the pub have not been aware of any noise complaints made to the council in relation to this land since it has been used as an external seating area.
- Application for discharge of planning condition 5 (surface yard bays and dust) to previously approved application 21/02338/FUL for retrospective change of use of potato store to aggregate bagging depot, with no alterations to existing buildings, at Greenford Haulage & Aggregates Limited, Unit 5, Dalton Gates, Dalton On Tees, North Yorkshire.
In order to provide a suitable surface on which to travel, the store has now been surfaced using 100mm depth of Limestone Type 1. This material is approved for use in adoptable highways and is therefore a suitable running course on which plant machinery can safely travel to and from the aggregate holding bays.
- Change of use of an existing dwelling to staff facilities, at 28 Bedale Road, Leeming Bar, Northallerton.
The proposed development is for the change of use of the existing bungalow to staff facilities and storage facilities, to be used in conjunction with the nursery business that now surrounds the bungalow.
The existing bungalow contained a lounge, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, three bedrooms and boiler room.
The staff facilities proposed incorporate the provision of a staff room, staff kitchen, meeting room, bathroom, and two storage rooms, which are to be used for the storage of equipment in association with the business onsite.
