A man has been arrested after an incident in a County Durham village which left another man hospitalised.
Emergency services were called to Burn Place in Willington at around 8.45pm on Monday (May 29) evening to reports of an assault.
There, paramedics treated a man who had injuries to his hand and arm. He was taken to hospital at University Hospital North Durham before being released this morning.

A police cordon was put in place while officers carried out their investigations and gathered evidence.
Eyewitnesses reported the street being closed off since night. It is understood the cordon has now been lifted.
A man has since been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody at this time.

Durham Police said enquiries are ongoing.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 9.03pm on Monday to reports of a person injured on Burn Place, Willington.
"We sent one emergency ambulance and transported one patient to University Hospital of North Durham for further treatment."
