A woman has been taken to hospital after a person was hit by a train this morning.
North East Ambulance Service have confirmed they received reports of an injured female at Darlington Railway Station at 9:30am this morning (May 27).
The woman was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
This comes after an LNER spokesperson confirmed a person was hit by a train this morning at Darlington station.
An NEAS spokesperson said they deployed two ambulance crews to the scene and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance.
They said: "We were called to reports of an injured female at Darlington Railway Station at 9.30am this morning.
”We dispatched two ambulance crews and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance, and transported one patient to Darlington Memorial Hospital for further treatment.”

An LNER spokesperson said: "Due to a person being hit by a train at Darlington, services in the area may be subject to delays."
The Northern Echo have contacted British Transport Police for more information on the incident.
