A teenager was reportedly grabbed in a 'chokehold' by security at a North East entertainment event over the weekend.
An investigation has now been launched after a video circulating online appearing to show a young woman being manhandled by a member of security staff at Rainton Arena in Houghton le Spring.
The incident was widely shared on multiple social media sites on May 19, showing footage from the under 18's event called 'WE ARE BOUNCE'.

Following the footage going viral, the venue involved has said that the security company at the event were not employed by the venue, and that the individual involved has been now suspended from the security company.
Rainton Arena and event organisers have also said they are fully aware of the situation, and a investigation is ongoing.
They said Northumbria Police has been made aware of the incident and the child's parents have been contacted and shown all CCTV, and that the event organisers are all parents and they "will not accept this type of behaviour towards anyone".
A spokesperson for Rainton Arena said: "We will be doing as much as possible to keep aiding any investigations by Northumbria Police."
They posted on social media: "We do not condone behaviour of that sort in any way. The Police and Security Industry Authority are aware of the incident and are dealing with this accordingly.
"All CCTV Coverage has been reviewed by the venue along with the parent of the child concerned. The child’s parents are in contact with the Security Company and afull investigation of the incident is now ongoing.
"The Security Company is not employed by Rainton Arena, it is a Third Party Company used for the event. We do appreciate your concern but can assure you that this is being dealt with efficiently."
The Northern Echo has contacted Northumbria Police about the incident.
