Police are appealing for information from witnesses following a suspected assault in which a man suffered serious head injuries outside a North East bar.
A report was received of the incident, in which a man was said to have been hit in the head in the area outside Holy Hobo, in the Jesmond area, at about 12.20am on Sunday, April 23.
The blow was said to have caused him to fall to the ground and it resulted in him sustaining serious head injuries.

He was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries and is said to remain in a serious but stable condition four weeks on from the incident.

Police launched an investigation into the alleged assault and are carrying out a number of inquiries to find the perpetrator.
