RECENT planning applications submitted to Durham County Council in May include:

  •  Change of use of existing building from St John's Ambulance centre to a mixed use comprising office and first floor three-bed residential flat, replacement of first floor raised platform with two storey rear extension and external staircase, and retention of windows and rooflights to the front and rear, at St Aiden's House, High Street, Willington, Crook.

The change of use of the existing premises at St. Aiden’s House, off High Street, Willington, from its former authorised use as a training centre and offices for the St. John Ambulance service, to three individual offices on the ground floor and a three-bedroom residential flat above, together with a new rear extension to the premises and retention of existing alterations to the fabric of the building.

  •  Erection of 16 two-bedroom bungalows, at Eclipse Development Site B, south Of Rudkin Drive, Crook, DL15 8LU.

The proposal is to develop the land with14 single storey two-bedroom semi-detached dwellings and two single storey two-bedroom detached bungalows.

The site comprises undeveloped land with existing residential properties located to the north, an industrial estate to the south, and a vehicle repair shop to the east. The site is wholly contained within the settlement of Crook and development would have a neutral landscape impact.

  •  Detailed application for up to 96 dwellings at Residential Plot 1 with associated open space at Green Spine 3, site of former Black And Decker, Green Lane, Spennymoor.
