A County Durham hotel has landed an impressive accolade for one of the best breakfasts in England following its reopening to the public.
The Park Head Hotel in Bishop Auckland, which is part of the Auckland Project, was visited recently by representatives from Visit England, who were impressed by the quality of breakfast on offer.
During the visit, the venue was presented with a three-star award, which also picked the hotel and restaurant out for using local produce from the County Durham area.

A three star hotel award signals that a venue is of a high standard - with the managers at the hotel delighted with the latest accolade.
Andrew Hogg, general manager of Park Head Hotel, said: “We are thrilled with the recent accreditation from Visit England, which is testament to the wonderful team at Park Head.
"We received excellent feedback and an incredibly high Three Star accreditation, reflecting our desire to exceed expectations and deliver the best possible experience for our guests.”
Non-residents are welcome to visit Park Head Hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as brunch which is served from 11am – 2pm every Saturday.
Park Head Hotel & Restaurant is part of The Auckland Project, and much of the food served in the restaurant is sourced from the Walled Garden at Auckland Castle.
What makes the accolade even more special is the fact that the Park Head Hotel only reopened in February 2023.
