A commercial aircraft carrying holidaymakers had to make an emergency landing at Newcastle Airport following a "technical issue".
Flight tracking data shows that the pilot of KLM flight KL959 from Amsterdam to Newcastle decide to make a "precautionary landing" at Newcastle after the nose wheel of the plane broke on May 6.
The aircraft left Amsterdam at 12.30 pm local time and landed safely in Newcastle on the second attempt at 13.12 pm.
The emergency landing led to the subsequent cancelling of the return journey - KL600 - but KLM has reassured that passengers were rebooked on the next available flight.
