A LISTED Darlington pub has submitted plans to build an outside bar.

Slaters Arms, in Bondgate, Darlington, has submitted a variation to its plans for alterations including enclosing the covered shelter, construction of an external bar and store and widening of access stairs to Darlington Borough Council.

The application site is a covered beer garden to the rear of the Slater's Arms.

The applicant has sought to enclose the steel-framed canopy using timber cladding and glazed doors.

A simple bar has also been constructed within the footprint of the canopy for use during busy periods and special events.

This represents a deviation from the approved plans and the applicant is therefore submitting a Section 73 application to vary the approved plans.
