Police are appealing for witnesses after an off-duty police officer was injured when he tried to intervene on two men fighting in the street in County Durham.
The incident happened near to Shotton Hall Academy, on Passfield Way, Peterlee, at about 3pm on Friday, April 28.
Emergency services attended the incident, which saw police presence around Peterlee.

Police have confirmed that the officer was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham with serious facial injuries.
Officers from Durham Police has now confirmed that they're appealing for witnesses in the serious incident.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident reference 273 of April 28.
