A popular North East bistro bar has announced its closure after the building was sold by the council.
The Looking Glass (TLG) on Athenaeum Street in Sunderland announced its closure on Wednesday (May 3).
The bar announced this in a social media post on Facebook and thanked customers for their loyalty.

They also wished the new operators of the building the best and said they planned to venture into new business opportunities.
A TLG spokesperson said: "We have shared many happy occasions with you all celebrating baby showers, christenings, weddings, birthdays and more.
"Your loyalty and custom meant everything to us so thank you.
"Sunderland is experiencing transformational change and development in many areas.
"We would like to wish the new operators of the former Looking Glass best wishes with their venture.
Sunderland City Council (SCC) said Siglion Investments had decided to end its licence with the current occupier after several months of operational challenges.
They added they are still in ownership of the property and are in dialogue with alternative operators.
They said a further update will be provided in future.
An SCC spokesperson said: "Given the ongoing operational challenges which saw the Looking Glass close for several months during 2022, Siglion Investments LLP decided to terminate its licence with the current occupier in order that an alternative use could be identified.
"Siglion Investments LLP is still in ownership of the property and is in dialogue with alternative operators.

TLG said Cafe 1851 will continue to operate on Mackies Corner and is available for event bookings.
They also thanked everyone “who has been part of our journey.”
