RECENT planning applications in North Yorkshire include:
- Full planning permission for internal and external alterations in association with the decommission of existing bank, at 9 Market Place, Leyburn, North Yorkshire.
The proposed work will be only in ground floor and first floor of this three storey property.

The proposed works are for the removal of existing external signage; removal of existing external ATM and existing window to be reinstated to match existing; removal of existing night safe face plate and existing aperture to be infilled with stonework to match existing; removal of internal counters and all furniture.
- Revised application for construction of 38 residential dwellings with associated access, parking, landscaping and infrastructure, near Northallerton Business Park, Thurston Road, Northallerton.
Persimmon Homes’ element of this scheme and the adjacent reserved matters application with Taylor Wimpey will deliver the following mix of housing which is all NDSS compliant: six one-bedroom units; 12 two-bedroom units (including four bungalows; 34 three-bedroom units.
- Construction of three highly energy efficient dwellings, with garaging and gardens utilising the existing access and drive, at land adjacent to the East House, Great Smeaton, North Yorkshire.
The site has its own access and is now independent and under separate title to that of The East House.
The surrounding context is semi rural, with larger stand alone dwellings, a new development has just been built to the north of the site, resulting in this site becoming an infill plot.
- Construction of 24 dwellings and associated highway works and alterations to existing dwelling, at land on the west And south west side of Sycamore Lane, Leeming, North Yorkshire.
The development proposals would include the provision of 18 affordable homes to be developed in partnership with Broadacres Housing Association.
