Goths have descended on Whitby as the North Yorkshire seaside town welcomes the return of its biannual goth weekend.
Described as one of the world’s “premier Goth events” by organisers the alternative festival was first held in 1994 as a small meet up of Goths and has since spiralled in popularity.
The event also features an alternative market with more than 100 stalls.

Whitby is understood to have been chosen to host the event due to its links with Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Held twice a year goths descended on the North Yorkshire town from Friday (April 28) to Sunday (April 30) and will return again in late October (October 27-29).
The weekend also marked the return of the Tomorrow’s Ghosts Festival for the first time since before the pandemic.
