A large emergency service response was spotted in a North East town centre, closing a road in both directions for hours late last night (Wednesday, April 26).
Yarm Lane in Stockton was closed after the occupants of a property on the road got stuck on the second floor of a building whilst trying to flee the police.
Officers from Cleveland Police were in attendance at a Yarm Lane property in response to reports of malicious communication and a concern for safety.

But when cops arrived, the occupants attempted to escape from the second floor of the building, and the fire service had to be called in to rescue them.
A spokesperson from Cleveland Police said: "Stockton officers attended a property in Yarm Lane last night (Wednesday, April 26), in response to reports of malicious communications and a concern for safety.
“Upon arrival at the address, the occupants attempted to escape from the second floor of the building, and Cleveland Fire Brigade were called to help get them to safety.

“Thankfully, officers on the scene managed to get both of them back into the building safely.
“A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and a 34-year-old man was arrested for obstructing a police officer.
“Both are currently in police custody.”
