Voters will take to the polls in local elections across the Tees Valley on Thursday, May 4.
The stakes are high in Stockton, with the two main parties both hoping to prove themselves and take power, with no party having had majority control for the last four years.
Labour is currently the largest party on the council with 24 of the 56 seats up for grabs.

The Conservatives are the second largest party, holding 16 seats.
The remainder are held by various independent groups including six Thornaby Independent Association councillors, two Fairfield Independents, three Ingleby Barwick Independent Society councillors, two Billingham West and Ingleby Barwick East Independent councillors, one Liberal Democrat and two independent councillors.
