A man has been arrested after a racist tweet appeared on social media following the conclusion of a North East football match.
Cleveland Police have confirmed that a man, 24, from Hartlepool has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications following a report of a racist Tweet which was sent after the Hartlepool United FC game on Saturday, April 22.
Hartlepool United were almost certainly relegated from League Two after a 0-2 defeat to Crawlwy Town on Saturday, April 22.
After ther match, officers working for Cleveland Police say that a racist tweet appeared online - and it has led to the arrested of a man.
The man has been bailed whilst enquiries continue.
