Police have released a picture of a man they would like to speak to as part of their investigations after a man reportedly made obscene comments to a teenage girl before following her onto a bus.

The incident happened late on Friday (April 14) night when the teen was waiting for a bus at around 10pm.

A man reportedly approached her and made obscene comments towards her while at the bus stop on Tilery Road in Stockton, opposite the Go Local store.

He then boarded the same bus as the girl – the number 36 to Billingham.

The girl sought safety by sitting next to a stranger and a man got off at the West Avenue bus stop outside the Salutation Pub in Billingham.

The teenager was physically unharmed but left shaken by the ordeal.

Police have now released an image of a man they would like to speak to as they believe he may have information about the incident which could help their enquiries.

Cleveland Police said: “Police in Stockton would like to speak to the man pictured as he may have information which could help some ongoing enquiries.

“Anyone who can assist our ongoing enquiries is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number, quoting ref CVP-23-070460.

If you don’t want to speak to police you can pass information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers.”
