Police are looking into an incident that saw a driver make off from the scene after flipping their car over on a major County Durham road.
Officers from Durham Police attended the A167 near Plawsworth on Wednesday (April 19) at around 6pm following reports of a one vehicle collision.
At the time, the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) said that they had been stood down from the incident.

A NEAS spokesperson said, "We received a call at 18:03 to a road traffic incident on the A167 in Durham near the Red Lion Pub.
"Off duty paramedics were at the scene.
"We dispatched a rapid response paramedic, a clinical team leader and an emergency ambulance and all our teams stood down at the scene."
However, the police have now confirmed that a driver is believed to have collided with a road sign, which caused the vehicle to overturn, and then made off from the scene.
Enquiries are now ongoing, according to the Durham Police.
