A spokesperon for Darlington Hippodrome has said the show needs "no introduction".
"(Grease) seems to be built into everyone’s memory from birth.
"The cheesy boy meets girl over the summer, boy is too cool for her back at school, boy realises the error of his ways, boy and girl get back together story line is never going to win any literary prizes but the characters and the music are infectious."
They added: "The stage version has all the movie songs including Grease Is The Word, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You and You’re The One That I Want."
