Emergency services have been dealing with a serious incident near to the beach in Redcar.
Police and ambulance services were called to Newcomen Terrace at around 5.30pm on Tuesday.
Cleveland Police has closed the road while officers continue to deal with the situation.
A force spokesman said: “Motorists are advised that Newcomen Terrace to the Queen Street area of Redcar has been closed to traffic.
“We would like to thank anyone affected for their patience while emergency services work together at the scene.”

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to an incident on Newcomen Road in Redcar shortly before 5.30pm this evening.
“We dispatched two ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic, an officer and one crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team.”
