A motorcyclist has been left hospitalised in a serious condition after a crash with a parked car late on Sunday night.
The 35-year-old rider collided with a parked vehicle and sustained 'significant' head and facial injuries and a fractured left collarbone.
Officers erected a cordon at the scene on Orchard Road in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough after the incident at about 9.15pm on Sunday (April 16) night.

The motorcyclist was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to James Cook University Hospital.
Dramatic pictures from the scene show the blue Triumph Sprint two-wheeler lying on its side with broken-up parts of its body work strewn across the road.
The motorcyclist’s white helmet lay just a few feet away.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing emergency services descend on the street and the biker was taken to hospital.

Police said they are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to assist their enquiries.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information - including any footage - of a serious collision which happened last night (Sunday 16th April) in Middlesbrough.

“At around 9.15pm a blue Triumph Sprint motorbike, ridden by a 35-year-old man in hi-vis and a white helmet, collided with a parked car on Orchard Road.
“The rider sustained significant head and facial injuries and a fractured left collarbone and was taken by ambulance to James Cook University Hospital where he remains receiving treatment.
“Any witnesses or people with information are asked to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number, quoting ref 017859.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We received a call at 10:30pm on Sunday evening to an injured motorcyclist as a result of a road traffic incident between the motorcycle and a car.
"We sent a specialist paramedic, a clinical team leader, a doctor and two emergency ambulances. The patient was pre-alerted to James Cook hospital for further treatment and transported by road ambulance."
