Overnight closures on a stretch of the A66 will begin tonight, with motorists being warned of delays and diversions.
The major route between Middlesbrough and Darlington will be closed for five nights while improvement and resurfacing works are carried out.
The work will take place on the eastbound carriageway from the boundary of Stockton to the A19 exit slip road.

It will begins tonight and work will continue on take place on Tuesday, April 18, Thursday, April 20, Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22.
Work will be paused on Wednesday (April 19) due to Championship Middlesbrough’s tie at the Riverside against Hull City.

The closures will take place overnight from 9pm until 6am with diversions in place.
A Middlesbrough Council spokesperson said: “The closures are due to road resurfacing and restructuring and have been scheduled through the evening in order to minimise disruption.”
