Two women have appeared in court after a stabbing which left another woman fighting for her life.
Marie Metcalfe, 40, appeared before Teesside Magistrates Court today (April 10) charged with attempted murder following an incident in Hartlepool on Good Friday (April 7).
Emergency crews rushed to the scene on Brougham Terrace on Friday evening and a 44-year-old woman was taken to hospital fighting for her life.

Her condition is described as critical but stable.
Police remained at the scene on Saturday with a stretch of Brougham Terrace cordoned off.
During a short court appearance Metcalfe was told she would be remanded in custody until another court date at Teesside Crown Court in Middlesbrough on May 9.

Kelly Nicholson, 44, appeared in the dock charged with assisting an offender. She was released on bail and will appear before Teesside Crown Court on the same date next month.
Neither of the women entered any plea at this stage.
As of Sunday (April 9), a 41-year-old man remained in police custody and was being questioned in connection with the incident.
