A woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a suspected stabbing last night.

Emergency services were called to Brougham Terrace, Hartlepool, just after 8pm.

A 40-year-old woman has been taken to James Cook University Hospital with life threatening injuries.

A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8.06pm last night (7 April) to attend an incident at a private address in the Hartlepool area.

The Northern Echo:

"We dispatched a paramedic crew, a doctor, a specialist paramedic and a clinical team leader, who treated one patient on scene before taking them to hospital." 

Two women, both aged 44, and a 41-year-old male have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Cleveland Police has launched a investigation and officers are still in the area.

A force spokesman said: “Officers were called to a property in Brougham Terrace, Hartlepool at 8.08pm yesterday (Friday April 7) after a woman was found with injuries caused by a bladed article.

The Northern Echo:

“Officers remain at the scene while enquiries continue.”
