Train passengers in the North East are facing delays this morning following an incident on the railway.
Emergency services have been called to the scene, between Newcastle and Morpeth, it is understood to be ongoing.

A spokesperson for LNER said: “The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Newcastle and Morpeth, meaning all lines are blocked.
“As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled or delayed.
“Disruption is expected until 12pm.”

LNER Rail replacement buses are in operation between Newcastle to Edinburgh.
Northern Train services are unable to run between Newcastle and Morpeth / Chathill in both directions.
Services from Carlisle to/from Morpeth/Chathill will terminate/start at Newcastle.
