The woman behind a popular Darlington beauty salon is about to open her second premises.
Erin Joy Harper opened her business, Rejoy, in Cockerton in 2017 and now plans are underway for her second salon to open in Middleton St George.
The Cockerton salon specialises in nails, lashes, massage, and hair removal.
The salon also hosts freelance/self-employed therapists such as aesthetics nurses specialising in filler and botox.

Plans are in the works for the new salon to open next month to reach more clients.
Ms Harper said: “It’s really exciting to be opening another Rejoy salon. We’ve got some work to do on the new salon before we can open, we still need to lay the floor but it’s looking really nice, and we can’t wait to open.
“It’s been in the works for about a year, just after a had my little boy. The shop came up and it was just perfect and luckily we got it.
“It’s pretty much nearly done, we’re just finalising staffing. We’re using the team we’ve got, including me, and then we’ll see how demand goes.

“We’ve got a few experts in their fields coming in as well, so self-employed aesthetics nurses, make-up artists, holistic therapists so this salon will be a little bit different to Cockerton.
“The last few years have been stressful with the pandemic and everything. We’re just really glad to still be here and have a full team.
“It’s been a bit up in the air for a while now so we just can’t wait to get going with it and meet more clients.
“We support about 12 families with our staff, including mine, so it’s a real gratitude moment, it’s not something that three years ago in Covid we would have imagined possible, so we’re really excited.”
The beauty and holistic industry suffered badly during the pandemic but fortunately, much like the hospitality industry, things have returned to normal.
The current salon is located at 1 West Auckland Road, Cockerton, Darlington.
