Darlington FC have issued a two year banning order to a supporter after identifying a person that spat at an opposition goalkeeper.
On Thursday (March 30), The football club confirmed that they had identified and subsequently banned a person for their behaviour at a fixture earlier this month.
The club said that thanks to several eye witness accounts, videos and images, they have identified a person who ran on to the field when Darlington scored at Farsley, and also spat at the home team’s goalkeeper.
He has been banned one year for each incident.
The bans will run consecutively.
Following ther ban, the club also confirmed that they will be informing other clubs and the FA that he is banned from Blackwell Meadows until April 2025.
In a statement, Darlington FC said: "The club condemns any sort of misbehaviour at home and away matches, and we remind supporters that when they travel away from home to watch us play, they are representing the club and should be on their best behaviour.
"We will continue to issue bans to supporters who are proven to have misbehaved, and we urge our responsible fans to report such activity to the club."
