FOUR people were injured last night when two vehicles crashed in a York street - and one of them then struck a shop.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said crews from Acomb and York, along with the Incident Support Unit from Tadcaster, attended the two-vehicle collision, which happened at 8.45pm in Leeman Road near Garfield Terrace.
A spokesperson said two vehicles had collided, one of which had impacted a shop building.
"Four casualties were out on the arrival of crews, two of whom were taken to hospital via road ambulance," they said.
"Crews carried out scene safety, isolated the vehicle batteries and used drizzit pads for a fuel leak."
They added that a building inspector had been out and declared that the shop building was safe.
