A group of passionate ladies come together every week to walk the tynemouth coast as a way of exercise and socialising in the community. They meet and walk several kilometres in order to improve their health as they get older and more isolated. This is vital to their physical aswell as mental well being in order to get out and about with like minded people as they go out in groups and walk whilst talking and getting to know each other’s personalities aswell as individual traits.
This is an important part of their daily lives and allows them to enjoy nature and each others company. One of the women, Lesley Clarke stated “this has become one of the best part of my week when I get to be with my friends while getting some exercise into my life, I have always looked forward to walks together as a group ”. This demonstrates the significance of these walks for this group. They can experience the natural surroundings of their local towns with their close friends.
