Fast-food giant KFC has announced plans to open a new restaurant and drive-thru creating more than 30 jobs.
The chicken brand will open a new store off the A1(M) in County Durham after plans were given the go-ahead.
Colonel Sanders’ new venue will sit alongside the existing Greggs and Costa drive-thrus at the Integra 61 site at Bowburn.

The restaurant will have room for about 100 diners and offer KFC’s traditional fayre including chicken wings, tenders, sharing buckets and sandwiches.
It will also create 35 new jobs, including 15 full time roles and 20 part time vacancies.
Work is expected to start in the summer with bosses at the chicken chain hoping the new venue will be ready to open and start up the friers by the end of the year.
Documents submitted to Durham County Council also show plans for 26 new parking space as well as a drive-thru with two waiting bays.

David Cullingford, Project Lead for the £400m Integra 61 site, said: “Adding another high profile occupier to the roadside element of Integra 61 is fantastic news and further strengthens the diversity of uses at the site.
“We are having a very busy 12 months on site with lots of development works underway and we are looking forward to welcoming KFC to the scheme.”
Integra 61 is one of the North East’s most significant regeneration projects with outline consent in place for over 3 million sq ft of employment space with the potential to create some 4,000 jobs amd is already home to Amazon’s 2m sq ft Fulfilment Centre.
