A fan was left speechless after being invited to come onstage to sing a hit single with chart-topper Tom Grennan with clips of the song going viral on TikTok.

Joseph Meston, from South Shields, was asked to come onstage at the Newcastle Utilita Arena on Tuesday night (14 March) by singer Tom Grennan, after the aspiring singer was spotted holding a sign asking "Can I sing 'Remind Me' with you?".

The 'Little Bit of Love' singer held the sign up to the crowd, saying, "I'm going to let the people decide". After a resoundingly positive response from the audience at the 11,000 capacity arena, Joseph arrived onstage to join in with Grennan's latest huge single.

After impressing the crowd with his first line, Joseph was handed the mic and counted in by Grennan and his band for the first verse.

"You're better than me!", exclaimed Grennan.

Joseph shared the footage to his own TikTok profile with the caption: "The BEST moment of my life... nothing will top this". Since then it's gone on to be viewed more than 260,000 times.

Hundreds of comments have been left on the clips with people praising Joseph.

"I was there, you were amazing," wrote one.

The concert was the fourth date of Grennan's UK arena tour, which sees him finishing the run of 10 shows at London's O2 Arena on 23 March.

Tom Grennan returns to Newcastle on 1 July when he's playing a huge outdoor show at Newcastle Racecourse in Gosforth.

'Remind Me' is the lead single from Grennan's forthcoming third album, 'What Ifs & Maybes' is due for release on 9 June 2023. It follows the breakthrough success of his last album, 'Evering Road', which went straight to number one in the album charts in 2021 and included the singles 'This Is The Place' and 'Little Bit of Love'.

It's since been certified Gold by the BPI - which signifies album-equivalent sales of more than 100,000 units.

Grennan issued an apology following his appearance at this year's BRIT Awards in February for making a comment about Ellie Goulding's breasts.

The duo appeared to present an award and Grennan asked Goulding, whose dress featured a metallic breastplate, "Are they your real boobs?”.

Grennan later wrote on social media: “What started as a joke between Ellie and I before we went on stage came out all wrong. The nerves got the better of us, but that does not excuse what was said, and I sincerely apologise to anyone who was offended – that’s not me at all, and I am sorry."

Goulding also defended Grennan over the comments.
