An investigation has been launched by police after potential human bones were found in a North East town.
At around 3pm police were made aware of a discovery of potential human bones in Cottingwood Lane, Morpeth.
A full investigation has been launched and officers are at the scene and have erected a cordon.
Multiple police vans and cars have been spotted at the scene as well as forensics teams.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “Shortly before 3pm yesterday (Thursday) we received a report of potential human bones being found in a wooded area near Cottingwood Lane, Morpeth.
“Officers remain at the scene to carry out enquiries and an investigation has been launched into the discovery.
“Anyone with any concerns is advised to speak to an officer on duty. Anyone with information can report to police using the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or call 101 quoting reference NP-20230309-0647.”
