The price of petrol has fallen for the fourth month in a row but motorists have been warned some are still being overcharged to fill up.
The cost of refuelling shot up to extraordinary heights last year but prices have come back down.
In February the average price of a litre of petrol came down by just more than a penny to 147.72p, while diesel dropped by 3.19p to 167.19p.

But analysis released by motoring organisation the RAC on Friday (March 3) revealed that despite there being just a 6p difference between the wholesale price of petrol and diesel throughout February, diesel prices are currently 20p more than petrol on average.
The drivers could face a shock at the pumps in less than two weeks’ time unless the Chancellor decides to keep the 5p duty cut put in place a year ago.
RAC fuel spokesperson Simon Williams said: “While our analysis shows drivers of petrol cars are paying a fair price at the pumps, the same sadly can’t be said for anyone whose vehicle runs on diesel.

“Retailers really ought to demonstrate they’re on the side of drivers by cutting their diesel prices now – not least as the wholesale price is on a par with where it was 12 months ago, yet the price they’re charging drivers at the pumps remains needlessly high.”
