Consumers are urged to utilise support given under the EBSS (Energy Bills Support Scheme) before the vouchers become unusable.
Millions of UK consumers are eligible to receive assistance paying their energy bills this winter.
The EBSS was introduced in October of 2022 to support the most vulnerable households with the rise in energy costs.
However, thousands of vouchers issued by the Government remain unclaimed – here’s how to redeem yours.
If you pay by direct debit, credit or debit card, a discount will be applied as a credit on your account.

You don’t need to contact your supplier for this – discount will be given automatically.
If you’re on a smart meter, you will be credited directly on to the meter itself, with no supplier contact necessary.
Those on traditional prepayment meters have a different process.
Owners of pre-payment meters will receive discounts each month through redeemable vouchers via text, email or post or receive automatic credit when topping up their card.
Vouchers can be redeemed at top-up points, which include Post Offices and PayPoint shops.

Those eligible are reminded that vouchers are not redeemable after June 30, 2023.
