Two men have been arrested after a serious assault which left one person in hospital with multiple injuries.
Police were called to reports of a serious assault late on Sunday (February 26) night, shortly before 11pm.

One person was taken to University Hospital of Durham with multiple injuries. Two men were arrested in connection with the incident, and both remain in police custody.
The victim has since been discharged from hospital.

A police cordon remained in place at the scene on Front Street in Framwellgate Moor, Durham on Monday (February 27) morning by the Queen’s Head pub.
Officers have now launched an investigation into the incident.

A Durham Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing, and officers are keen to speak to any witnesses in the area at the time of the assault or with CCTV footage.
